Folkestone Documentary Festival 2025

The 5th edition of the festival takes place from Wednesday 22 to Sunday 26 October 2025. The festival is a curated celebration of 25 international and UK documentary films taking place over five days in the seaside town of Folkestone, with most screenings at the beautiful Silver Screen.

This year’s programme dives deep – from the ocean floor to outer space. Meet the creatures who live beneath the waves, explore Korean dating, and uncover the fight for English land rights. Visit eccentric farms and discover the radical power of a Kenyan library. Get fired up by community solar energy, encounter a legend of 80s pop, and see Folkestone as you’ve never seen it before.
